We have had what seems like the busiest week ever... We went to Adam's Christmas party where they feed you lunch and then they play Dirty Santa- it is hilarious! We look forward to that Christmas Party every year. Emma was really good during it too, so that was a plus (she slept most of the time)!
We also went to see what Santa's Village was all about... That was a lot of fun. We went with my mom and just walked around for awhile. I love how they made it "snow" when it was 70 degrees outside! Emma sat in Santa's lap and didn't cry at all! She looked at him like he was something crazy, but no tears!
Our busy week led to a busy weekend, Friday night Adam kept Emma and let me go out to a dinner and a movie with one of my really good friends (Thanks Hubby!) and then I came home and got ready for our trip the next day to Pulaski, TN to see our good friends Christy & Jim. They bought a historic house a few months back and wanted us to come see it and Jim had not yet met Emma so we drove up on Saturday and spent the day with them. When we got home from TN I decided to go get stuff to bake cookies for my neighbors to give to them to say 'Happy Holidays'. I went a little overboard and now Adam has plenty of cookies to take to work.
Then this morning we decided to go visit a new church with our good friends Hope & JD, Summit Crossing Community Church. His sermon was so good, he talked about how the reason for the season is Christ and not presents. He brought up how we can get so blind sided by the huge feast that has to be perfect and beating the crowds to buy all of the perfect gifts for everybody... and can turn into the most miserable time of the year instead of the most wonderful; and that we can forget what the season is really about. We just really enjoyed what he had to say about turning Christmas 'maddness into gladness' and reminding us to enjoy the time off work with our families and be grateful to God for it, it was really great. And the pastor is SO funny and there were tons of young people our age. After such a busy week filled with Christmas activities it was just something that we needed to hear to get us back on track! I think we will be going back there very soon since me and Adam both got so much out of it. During the service Emma was okay, she got fussy and Adam walked her around in the back of the sanctuary and then she passed out on his shoulder and slept the rest of the time! So, I think after that reminder we are going to take some deep breaths, relax, and enjoy the Holidays and remember why we celebrate CHRISTmas!
