1st Dentist Visit

Emma had her first dentist appointment today and I cannot get over how good she was!!! The dental hygentist showed her all the tools, let her play with them, and stick them in her mouth. Then the dental hygentist asked Emma if she could tickle her teeth, Emma said yes, and she got her teeth cleaned. It was awesome! I guess reading all those books about the dentist and talking about it everyday really paid off! She got a toy ball afterwards. The dentist came in and counted her teeth, told her she had a lot of teeth, and looked really quick. No cavities, yay! Happy Healthy teeth! She does have an open bite from sucking a pacifier but the dentist said that should go away when we take the pacifier away which I am hoping to do that by June. i asked about the big gap between her two front teeth and the dentist told me that the gap is actually good because it gives her permanent teeth more room to come in and he thinks the gap should go away when that happens if there is no family history of a gap between the two front teeth (interesting). But he was concerned about the tissue that is between her two front teeth (connects the gums to the upper lip) and he said we may want to get it clipped in the future but he is not worried about it right now. We are scheduled to go back and take Eli with us for his 1st dentist appointment in July.
